Michelle Steenvoorden, 22 years old, is originally from the Netherlands where she finished her Bachelor degree in Business and Consumer Studies at Wageningen University. Being enrolled in a university with a strong link to agriculture gave her the opportunity to focus her studies on the field she loves the most: food. Within her Bachelor she chose a major in Consumer Studies and specialised in Food Safety. She wrote her Bachelor Thesis about consumer meat waste. Currently, she is doing a bridging year during which she aims to increase her knowledge on the technological, molecular and cellular processes in food production, storage, consumption, and on human physiology in general. Part of this year is an internship at Aalborg University, where she takes part in the Richfields project.
